A Call out to All US Military Veterans around the Country - Adam Kokesh

In Response to the Oakland Incident (Oct 25th) and the attack on Scott Olson a former Marine Veteran who served 2 tours in Iraq coming home to be harmed by a Police Officer. Originally uploaded on AdamKokesh www.youtube.com www.adamvstheman.com Read the Article on Scott Olson www.guardian.co.uk Keep up to Date on Scott’s Condition here: www.ivaw.org I want to take a moment to reach out to my brothers and sisters currently serving in the US military. I say brothers and sisters because I’m a veteran myself, having served in Fallujah in 2004 with a Marine Corps Civil Affairs Team and although I am dead set against serving for Obama, we share the noble cause of being willing to put our lives on the line for this country. Even if you’re watching this from an internet cafe somewhere in the sandbox, I assume that by now, you’ve at least heard of the Occupy Wall Street protests. While the cause of protesting the richest 1% is fundamentally misguided, and the thrust of their message is to ask the government to solve problems created by government, there are some critical lessons to be learned from recent events that directly relate to your life in uniform. Whether you choose to recognize that connection is up to you. Our foreign policy is one of the primary reasons the government is bankrupt and has to borrow about 40 cents of every dollar spent today. The debt per citizen is almost 000. That’s a stone around the neck of every child who is supposed to be born free in America

Thank you for speaking out and supporting PFC Manning, Ben and Michael. I know what courage it takes for soldiers to state the facts under extreme pressure to maintain the military’s “guns and glory” image. Most U.S. officials view the people as the enemy. For that and other reasons (greed, cowardice, etc.), Bradley will not get a fair trial. The justice system is a travesty. The government is a huge stage production managed by fascist puppets who serve the rich. PFC Manning works for us.

I just read a very brave insightful peace on Reader Supported News written by an American Iraq War vet,Ross Caputi, titled: I’m sorry For the Role I Played In Fallujah. Yes, every soldier is doing a hard job, and no , I haven’t been there, but going to war for a “good” cause is so often a lie that a soldier swallows in order to deal with what they are ordered to do. Manning, Caputi, and the vets in this video are true heroes for searching their souls and speaking truth, at great personal risk.

@natritious1 and how are you so wise about the world? have you been out to afghanistan or iraq and seen the work our forces are doing there? i’m not even in the military but i have met a few and heard a lot, the vast majority seem to me extremely decent. they’re doing an incredibly tough job out there, they don’t need to be judged by some ignorant loser like you who wouldn’t have the balls to join up in the first place.

Good Vid, a LOT of excellant points, most if not all I heartily support. Its DAMN reassuring to see & know past & serving troops are deeply questioning the contrived rationale for the US’s long history of opportunistic wars that are antithetical to everything the nation used to believe in, and what its claimed, falsely, it STILL represents. The only troops I honor are those who renounce our many past & ongoing wars for Wall Street & MIC, in the tradition of General Smedley Butler. OCCUPY CHANGE!

Although I agree with most of your video, and appreciate your patriotism, you forgot to mention that the protesters assaulted the Police with rocks and bottles. Those public servants have the same right to return home to their families, just like every service man does! I am not a Cop, but retired from the Coast Guard. During high stress law enforcement situations, tensions can become stressed, just like combat. In Katrina, the looters were trying to shoot down CG Helo’s doing rescues!

I whole heatedly respect and agree for the most part with everything you’ve said, shared your video on various forums, blogs, twitter and FB pages of import, and while I have no intentions of voting for Obama, I do know that the current economic crisis we are facing is not solely b/c of him. If you really think one man is capable of what most economists agree has been in the making for 30+ years then your message won’t be as well received as you’d like, and that’s unfortunate.

99% vs 1% is class warfare. The 1% is winning that war using your tax money to wage their war against you.
As in the Mid-East, overthrow is the only course. The Fascist power elite only understands and listens to power and they listen to violence.
And so the serpent’s walk begins:
” The lifeless body of Claude Dray, 76, was found with three bullet holes in the neck in Neuilly-sur-Seine, a Paris suburb.”

Please, whoever is the sound technician for this clip: back of on the noise reduction! The threshold is set waaay to high, and the attack waaay too short. It makes it very irritating to listen to this clip. To a casual listener who doesn’t recognize a noise reduction system, it will probably just sound like Mr Kokesh has an irritating way of speaking.
